Location: Field-based (Scotland-wide travel required)

Salary: £42,108.70
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hours: 37 hours per week plus Standby Shifts

Working Pattern:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm

Job Overview

Saltire Facilities Management are looking for a skilled and motivated Gas Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their technical career, broaden their skillset, and play a key role in supporting and developing a team of Engineers across multiple contracts.

This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, takes ownership of their work, and is passionate about delivering high-quality service while supporting others to do the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of complex or problematic jobs, ensuring they are resolved efficiently and to a high standard
  • Organise, support, and mentor a team of Engineers, including ensuring adequate standby shift coverage
  • Work closely with the Compliance department, supporting audits and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met
  • Attend jobs alongside Engineers to provide technical support, identify development areas, and offer constructive feedback
  • Provide detailed feedback to management on team performance, training needs, and operational improvements
  • Provide cover across various contracts throughout Scotland as required
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to personal development, including attending training and upskilling opportunities
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company policies at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a Gas Engineering or similar technical role
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex jobs independently
  • Experience supporting or mentoring Engineers (or a desire to step into this type of role)
  • Good understanding of compliance and Health & Safety standards
  • Flexible approach to travel and working across multiple contracts
  • A positive attitude towards continuous learning and development
