Landlord Maintenance plans
As a landlord, you require peace of mind.
Saltire will take care of every step involved with looking after the boiler for your property. Whether this be a new boiler, looking at renewable heating or covering the boiler in case it breaks down. With all of our engineers being registered and certified, you can be safe in the knowledge that your property is in safe hands.
With the government’s push towards becoming net zero by 2050, new EPC regulations are coming into place in 2025. If you’re a landlord, this could directly affect you.
What is the EPC?
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is needed when buying, selling or renting a property. This is a crucial document which shows your home’s energy efficiency rating and improvement recommendations.
The EPC is rated from A-G, with A being the most efficient. Not only does this certification display your home’s energy efficiency, but it’ll tell you how many CO2 emissions are omitted.
If you’re a landlord, how will this affect you?
If you’re a landlord and your property’s EPC rating is below C, you are not alone. With over 13 million rentals with a D or below rating*, this new regulation is going to greatly affect landlords.
Consequently, if you, as a landlord, fail to meet the new 2025 requirements, your property may be deemed unrentable, making it unsellable or un-mortgageable.

What can you do as a landlord?
Investing in ways to make your property run more efficiently is a great starting point.
Here are some tips to help you improve your property’s energy efficiency:
-
Upgrading windows and doors will help to stop your heating from escaping
-
A cheap and easy option is to use loft insulation to help stop energy from being wasted
-
By replacing your old boiler, this could improve your energy bills and performance dramatically. With the government’s ambitious target of becoming carbon neutral by 2050, investing in a hydrogen-ready boiler will greatly help.
-
A hydrogen-ready boiler burns both natural gas and 20% hydrogen to generate energy. Go to our website to find the best boiler for your property. You can also browse our helpful webpage which gives advice specifically for landlords – have a read here.
-
Renewable energy solutions are another option. Particularly, solar panels are becoming more popular in domestic settings. This could greatly improve your property’s energy efficiency and will decrease your CO2 emissions.
